Made by locals for you to experience the islands like you are visiting long time friends
Traveling feels different when you know someone who is from the place you're visiting. You can see places that most tourists don't, eat the best food, and have the most fun when you are surrounded by friends.

That's why we created this one of a kind Galapagos retreat. To show you the islands from the eyes of a local's perspective.

Come on down to this little volcanic rock in the middle of the Pacific... the sea lions are waiting for you!

Experience Galapagos like a local

Yoga
Creative flows to help connect your body, mind, and spirit.
Each day there will be yoga practices that will ignite your energy and can be personalized based off your specific needs. You will have morning practices to ground you into the present moment and start every day full of fresh energy. There will also be several evenings with a yin or gentle practice to wind down for rest. You will have a private local yoga instructor that is knowledgeable in asanas, pranayama (breath work), sound healing, and meditation.

Adventure
Discover the beauty within while exploring the beauty around you.
You will have the chance to explore the different microclimates of San Cristobal through earth and sea. Each day you will get to choose the activity that calls to you and experience all the natural wonders of the Galapagos environment, flora, and fauna. Choose from surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, biking, hiking, free-diving or scuba diving, and watching sunset from the beautiful beaches. No matter which activity you choose, you’ll be greeted by sea lions, sea turtles, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, fresh air, green trees and cacti, giant tortoises, sunshine, crystal clear water, and empty waves you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
Nutrition & Hydration
Treat your vessel as sacred so that you can move through the world with ease.
You will have private and local chefs that will cook each meal (minus the lunches you will have while on tours). They will prepare delicious and beautiful dishes with whole, organic foods and share their own style of local cuisine with you. Each meal will be plant-focused and balanced. It is possible to have them tailored to your dietary needs. You will also be drinking the most smooth, clean, filtered, and electrolyzed water, full of the anti-oxidant molecular hydrogen. This hydrogen therapy will give you a gentle detox from the chemicals typically found in tap water and leave you feeling extra light, energized, and hydrated for your exciting adventures during the week.

Community Connection
Support sustainable local tourism and give back to the community with your presence.
Everyone hired on the Barefoot Soul team is local to Galapagos, so just by coming to visit us you are already helping employ locals who are dedicated to their craft and to making the best experience possible for you. You will feel like you are being greeted by friends from the moment you arrive to the moment you take off on your next adventure. We simply want to share our island lifestyle that we love so much with you so that you can feel inspired and rejuvenated as you return home to your own communities. There will also be opportunities to volunteer with the local children’s surf and sailing schools as lifeguards or assistants as well as volunteer with local farms by harvesting or planting food.
Embodiment
Become the most empowered version of yourself through the living of your intentions.
There will be an opening and closing ceremony where you will set your intentions, allow your heart to open more than it ever has before, and create space for your fullest self-expression to be unleashed. There will also be empowerment workshops that may include menstrual cycle awareness and cyclical living, tarot and oracle card readings, plus cooking, dance, and art classes. You will sense a deep connection to the teachers and local culture, to the other attendees on the journey with you, and to Mother Earth through these experiences of embodiment.

Where?
Cottages by the Sea
Enjoy your stay at these local family owned homes right on the water’s edge. You can walk to the center of town in just a few minutes and sleep easy with the sounds of waves crashing against the shore. Each morning you will wake up with the sun and the sound of Darwin’s finches outside your window. Walk just a few steps from your room to the yoga deck out front. All meals will be made for you right at home, family style. Plenty of hammocks for taking naps and peaceful outdoor patios for journaling with your afternoon tea. Welcome to your island home!

about San Cristobal and Galapagos

San Cristobal
San Cristobal, or “The Capital of Paradise”, is one of the oldest islands in the Galapagos archipelago. You will get to see famous Galapagos animals, from the sea lions and marine iguanas to the blue-footed boobies and mockingbirds just steps from the front door. Puerto Baquerizo is a small town with a population of about 10,000 people. The bay in which the town sits known as “Shipwreck Bay” is full of crystal clear turquoise waters that will take your breath away, and yes, even remains of shipwrecks line the outer reefs. It is known as a tourist town, but you will get to see it from the unique lens of local perspective as we take you off the beaten path on adventures to some of our favorite hidden gems.

Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands are a volcanic archipelago, formed by the hot spot under the Nazca tectonic plate millions of year ago. These islands are known as a safe haven for all kinds of marine life and endemic species. The Galapagos is a one of a kind place with curious animals, stunning beaches, unforgettable protected landscapes, and warm locals who are passionate about their home. There is so much to see and experience on these islands that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.

Who is this experience for?
Women 18 and over who are looking to experience MORE out of life. Women who are seeking deep connection to their own intuition, to their community, and to the world around them. Women who are ready to create who they want to be. Women who are down to run barefoot through the mud and have some fun!

Note: Your days will be packed with activities that leave you high-on-life and they will be balanced out with rest and recovery. If you are looking to be staying out partying every night, this is probably not the retreat for you. Likewise, if you want a laid back resort-style vacation, this is also probably not for you.
