2 beliefs you need to live an adventurous life
Here are two beliefs that, if you adopt them, you will be catalyzed into living the adventurous, creative life that you want.
Every decision I’ve made that has made my life into what it is today was questioned by the people who love me most
moving 12 hours away for college
studying abroad for my last semester
taking my first job out of college abroad
moving abroad permanently
eloping young
starting my own businesses
The two beliefs I had to adopt to get me through those moments of uncertainty and trail & errors and the questioning from others were:
You don’t have to carry their fears too. Yes, other people are scared for you because these are decisions they would never make themselves because of their own fears. But you've already got your own fears to work with, and theirs aren’t yours to carry. This is your life, not theirs. You get to choose to make your own decisions no matter what anyone around you says.
You can’t make a wrong decision. You have to relentlessly believe that everything is always working out in your favor. No matter what decision you make, it is always the right one. Life always ebbs & flows around your decisions. You have to remember that Terrance McKenna quote:
“This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering its a feather bed.”

It takes a lot of courage to make decisions that go against the norm and to create your own path in life. Anytime you are doing something courageous, fear will be right there with you. But by believing that you are in control of your own life, knowing what fears are yours and what fears are not, and that there are no wrong decisions, you are freeing yourself from the limitations and expectations placed on you by others. This allows you to pursue your own creative curiosity and dreams with courage alongside you and fear in tow. This is what allows you to create a life you are excited to live every day.
Having these beliefs can also help you to become more resilient in the face of challenges and perceived failures. You know that no matter what happens, you can always learn from your experiences and make the best of any situation. This perspective can help you to live a more fulfilling and satisfying life, where you are constantly growing and discovering new opportunities and magic around every corner.
